A cast of relatively unknown actors, a brilliantly hidden low budget, and an epic, 37-minute-long opening single take make Shinichiro Ueda's feature film debut a light, airy, and laugh-out-loud funny zombie comedy. A film crew is shooting a zombie horror movie in an abandoned water filtration plant, which is said to have been used by the military for experiments on humans. Just as the director is berating his actors and demanding more special effects blood, a real zombie apocalypse breaks out, much to the delight of his writer.

A CUT OF THE DEAD IN HOLLYWOOD

The spin-off film to One Cut of the Dead has more zealous zombies and a previous cast reinforced with international characters. Just like in the original, the plot revolves around the Higurashi family, rising star Chinatsu, a handsome actor, a cameraman with a bad back, a tomboy camera assistant, and the usual clumsy underlings. In addition to a couple of easygoing producers, the film has been given the new characters Joe and Tommy. And there are more zombies than ever!
