Interrogation Blu-Ray
Ryszard Bugajski's shocking film, based on real events and reflecting the Stalinist terror of the early 1950s, was banned under martial law in Poland but survived and flourished on secret VHS tapes, thanks to a copy smuggled out by the director at great personal risk. Interrogation was finally officially released in 1990 to great international acclaim. Tonia (Krystyna Janda - Man of Marble, Mephisto), a cabaret singer, is imprisoned without explanation. Days turn into months, varied only by persuasion, threats, and torture under relentless interrogation. Janda's unique portrayal of a woman who finds strength and heroism despite torture and imprisonment takes you to places that films are unwilling to explore.
