When hard-boiled CIA agent Ethan Renner (Kevin Costner) ends up in hospital after a failed mission, he learns that he only has months to live. He quickly reevaluates his life and decides to improve his poor relationship with his wife and daughter, whom he has distanced himself from for years for security reasons. But before he can be released, he must carry out one last mission: to neutralize one of the world's most ruthless terrorists. A tough job for a terminally ill agent who is also trying to keep track of his teenage daughter, who doesn't think much of him. If he succeeds, he will be able to test a new medicine that could potentially save his life.
