Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer

CONTROVERSIAL SERIAL KILLER FILM IN DOCUMENTARY STYLE
Henry (Michael Rooker) drives around the roads of the USA and murders indiscriminately. Men, women, children—no one is safe when Henry is around. In Chicago, he moves in with his old prison buddy Otis, and together they terrorize the city's residents with random acts of violence. But when Otis' sister, Becky, also moves in to escape her abusive husband, something new awakens in Henry. Is there still hope for humanity within him, or is it too late?
The film is loosely based on the very real serial killer Henry Lee Lucas and his accomplice Ottis Toole, and has been banned and censored around the world due to its highly advanced, violent, and realistic film language. —

A KILLER WITHOUT A CONSCIENCE
In this sequel to John McNaughton's acclaimed 1986 film, we meet Neil Giuntoli in the role of Henry. He continues his restless lifestyle on the run, murdering people when the opportunity arises. During one of his odd jobs as a portable toilet installer, he is offered a place to stay by his colleague Kai (Rich Komenich), who shares a house with his wife Crickett (Kate Walsh) and her younger sister Louisa (Carri Levinson). A home situation marked by sexual tension and poorly suppressed violent impulses soon becomes a reality. When Kai initiates his new friend into the secret world of arson, he has little idea that Henry's inclinations toward insurance fraud are relatively tame. But by then it's too late, and the killing begins. Director Chuck Parello delivers a film that is at least as ruthless and dark in its view of humanity as the original. The fact that Robert F. McNaughton is responsible for the music here as well ensures continuity in terms of tone. The film contains many violent scenes that are not for the faint-hearted.
