Gregorys Girl Blu-Ray
Gregory's Girl (Blu-ray)
Director: Bill Forsyth
"Witty, insightful, beautifully observed, and heartbreakingly accurate." - Time Out
The BFI is delighted to present a new Blu-ray release of Bill Forsyth's much-loved comedy Gregory's Girl, recently restored from the original camera negative.
Gregory (John Gordon Sinclair) and his friends start to notice girls—especially Dorothy (Dee Hepburn), not least because she is on the soccer team and is a better player than all the boys. With the help of his younger sister, Gregory finally asks Dorothy out, but when he arrives for the date, he discovers that the girls at school have other plans for him.
Gregory's Girl was a huge success when it was released in 1981 and was nominated for four BAFTAs, winning for Best Original Screenplay. Bill Forsyth's classic comedy remains the ultimate portrayal of the awkwardness of growing up and is a favorite among Scottish films.
