Getting It Back - The Story Of Cymande Limited Edition Blu-Ray
In the racially turbulent Britain of the early 1970s, a group of black musicians gathered in south London with a shared love of rhythm and a message of peace. Cymande—with the dove as their symbol—combined jazz, funk, soul, and Caribbean grooves into a unique sound. Despite their success in the US, they were met with indifference in their home country of Britain, became disillusioned, and disbanded in 1975. But their music lived on, as new generations of artists embraced and reworked their groundbreaking sound in new ways. From Soul ll Soul to De La Soul, MC Solaar to The Fugees, the dove had spread Cymande's message far and wide, prompting them to return after forty years. This is their story. The Rise of Bra, Cut Chemist Listens to Cymande, DJ Hollywood Bra Rap, Jazzy Jay Cymande Mix, Ruthless Rap Assassins
