When their independent existence is threatened by a hawkish gang of gangsters, black market dealers, and aspiring pimps, all of whom want a piece of their flesh trade, the discovery of an unexploded bomb in the cave-like, burned-out building where they operate puts their dreams in further jeopardy. Hideo Gosha (Violent Streets, Yakuza Wives) offers a new perspective on this often-filmed story by Taijiro Tamura, best known from Seijun Suzuki's 1964 film adaptation, resulting in a powerful and captivating drama that is now premiering outside Japan for the first time thanks to 88 Films.
