Just as the coltsfoot has blossomed and emotions are running high in the spring air, bank manager Marcus Arwidson receives a perfumed love letter. He is beside himself with joy. But what he doesn't know is that the letter was actually intended for the famous opera diva Osvald Berg. The sender is the giggly, lovely ballet girl Maj Bergman, whom Osvald has so far treated as if she were invisible. But then Maj gets the idea that someone should pretend to be in love with her to make Osvald jealous. And who do you think gets this assignment? That's right, Marcus! And he does it very convincingly— he doesn't have to act...

FRÖKEN APRIL is a light-hearted, fluffy fairy tale full of delightful misunderstandings and twists and turns. Designer Gunilla Pontén created the imaginative wardrobe, while Göran Gentele, acclaimed director of both film and the Royal Opera, was responsible for the script and direction. The film competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes, where Expressen reported "thunderous applause" and "cheers from the crowd."
