The year is 1942 in Lescun, a small village on the slopes of the Pyrenees. During his daily chores herding sheep, the young boy Jo makes a dangerous discovery. On a farm, several Jewish children are being hidden with the aim of smuggling them out of Nazi-occupied France, over the mountains to Spain. Jo and his grandfather join the risky plan, which becomes even more dangerous when German troops arrive in the village. All the children must now be smuggled out quickly in one last big operation. But if they are discovered, it will mean not only the end for the children, but also for Jo and his entire family...

FLYKTEN ÖVER PYRENÉERNA is based on the bestseller by Michael Morpurgo, whose War Horse was made into a film by Spielberg, and is filmed in the village where the real events took place. The cast includes Noah Schnapp (Stranger Things), Jean Reno (Leon), Thomas Kretschmann (The Escape from East Germany), and Anjelica Huston (Oscar for Prizzi's Honor).
