The year is 1997. Due to exponential crime rates, the United States has transformed its once-great city of New York into a maximum security prison where prisoners are sentenced to life. A new prisoner and former war hero, Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell - Dreamer, Vanilla Sky, Escape From LA), is offered his freedom if he can rescue the President of the United States (Donald Pleasence - Halloween, The Great Escape) from the prison on Manhattan after a terrorist has brought down the President's plane in this futuristic adventure.
