Final Cut (Blu-ray)
OPENING FILM – FESTIVAL DE CANNES 2022
A seasoned film crew struggles to complete a gory horror film in a disused military facility. When filming is interrupted by a real zombie attack, the energetic director's stubborn instruction is: Keep the camera rolling!Director Michel Hazanavicius is back with a gory, senseless meta- and metameta-packed remake of Shinichiro Ueda's cult filmOne Cut of the Dead (released by Njutafilms on streaming and DVD in 2019).nbsp;Final Cut drew lots of laughs and spontaneous applause from the gala-dressed premiere audience in Cannes, where the film opened the entire festival. We hope that Swedish audiences will also enjoy and laugh at the exploits of this mismatched film crew in their quest for the perfect shot. The films about OSS 117 agent Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath, starring Jean Dujardin, paved the way for The Artist, which won Oscars in 2012 for Best Picture, Director, Male Lead, Costume Design, and Original Score. In addition, the film won around 158 other awards around the world and was nominated for countless others. As mentioned earlier, there are many meta-levels inFinal Cut. Hold on to your hats! Bérénice Bejo, Oscar-nominated for her role in The Artist, is in real life married to Hazanavicius. The daughter in the film is played by the couple's real daughter Simone. However, the lead actor and director of the zombie film-within-the-film is not related to Hazanavicius. Remi is played by Romain Duris (Eiffel), who will also appear next year in a new extravagant version of Alexandre Dumas' classic The Three Musketeers.
