As a pioneer of the "body horror" subgenre, young David Cronenberg was both loved and hated for bizarre films such as Rabid, Scanners, and The Fly. As he matured, he changed direction and ended up in the mainstream with A History of Violence, and was awarded the prestigious job of president of the Cannes jury in 1999. Less well known is that Cronenberg is a big fan of racing cars and has driven many speedsters himself, which in 1979 resulted in his pet project FAST COMPANY.

William Smith (the 1970s favorite villain "Falconetti" in The Poor and the Rich), John Saxon (Enter the Dragon) and the attractive Claudia Jennings (Playboy Playmate of the Year 1970) headline the cast in this car chase film with the scent of motor oil and burnt rubber. At the center is dragster star Lonnie, who loves fast cars. But his shady sponsor only likes fast horses. When Lonnie refuses to participate in "fixed" races, all hell breaks loose...
