Ash takes his girlfriend Linda to a cabin in the woods. There he finds a tape recorder containing recordings made by a professor. The tape contains incantations from the "Book of the Dead," which awaken an evil force in the forest. Linda becomes possessed by demons, and Ash is threatened by the same fate. He must now survive another night in the cabin... When the Professor's daughter and her companions arrive at the cabin, the night turns into a grotesque battle, with Ash arming himself with a chainsaw and a shotgun!
