Johan is a young lab rat who is working hard on a new project that could give him a real career boost. The last thing he wants is a time-consuming kid on his hands. But that's exactly what happens when his neighbor falls victim to slimy loan sharks and is forced to leave his wild daughter with Johan. And it's about to get even worse! To get their extortion money back, the crooks plan to kidnap the girl—and of course, it's poor Johan who now becomes the main character in the gangster merry-go-round...

A GIRL ON HALSEN was the starting point for one of Swedish cinema's most successful (and shortest) careers. Between 1982 and 1993, Björn Skifs starred in five films that attracted a total of 2.5 million cinema-goers. Other notable roles include Gösta Ekman as the villain with a German accent and Liv Alsterlund, best known for her role as Madicken's little sister Lisabet.
