Don’t Open Till Christmas is one of the most shocking British slasher films ever made and has everything you could want from a film set in the most sordid parts of London in the early 1980s. European exploitation favorite Edmund Purdom directs and stars in this dark, twisted film that doesn't offer much in the way of Christmas cheer, but plenty of blood. It's Christmas in the East End, but someone with a grudge against Saint Nicholas is murdering everyone dressed as Santa Claus. Can Inspector Harris (Purdom) from Scotland Yard save the day and stop the ever-increasing number of deaths? This violent film with a truly nasty undertone is an excellent example of British exploitation cinema that perfectly captures the spirit of the times with peep shows, glitter, and Caroline Monroe singing a fantastic song.
