Ingmar Bergman's second feature film, an artistically confident drama about young love with tragic overtones.

The young couple Maggi and David meet by chance at a train station and fall in love. She is lost and he has just been released from prison. They are united by their shared troubled past and now try to find a decent life together in a cottage. There are many obstacles along the way, and you can't always trust your fellow human beings. It Rains on Our Love is Ingmar Bergman's second film as a director after Crisis, which came out the same year. Bergman wrote self-deprecatingly in 1973 in connection with a retrospective of his films: "The day after the premiere, I called Lorens (Marmstedt, producer) in tears and explained that I would never make another film. He thought it was a good idea."
