NO EVIL DEED GOES UNPUNISHED. Like many of his contemporaries, the Godfather of Gore Lucio Fulci (City of the Living Dead, Don't Torture a Duckling) felt that his career was on the decline in the late 1980s when the Italian horror film market bottomed out. Although much of his later work went straight to video, these low-budget productions still offer a few diamonds in the rough, including his 1990 tale of raging satanic sisters, Demonia, which many consider his last great film. A Canadian archaeological team, led by Professor Evans (Brett Halsey, The Devil's Honey), arrives at the ruins of a medieval Sicilian monastery to conduct an excavation. But when Evans' protégé, Liza (Meg Register, Ministry of Vengeance), searches for an explanation for the disturbing visions she has been experiencing, she awakens the spirits of three Satan-worshipping nuns who were killed centuries earlier by a violent mob, unleashing an orgy of vengeful violence on the unsuspecting explorers. Demonia, originally intended for theatrical release, is a return to the atmosphere and bloody excesses of Fulci's films from the late 70s and early 80s - a satanic shock film without limits, starring Lino Salemme (Demons) and Al Cliver (Zombie Flesh Eaters) and written by Piero Regnoli (Burial Ground).
