Now they must find the culprit before the vengeful father does. Genre master Duccio Tessari (A Pistol for Ringo, The Bloodstained Butterfly) adapts Italy's foremost noir writer Giorgio Scerbanenco for this investigative thriller. Death Occurred Last Night goes into methodical detail in the investigation before it gets to the death, focusing much more on character and process. Raf Vallone (The Italian Job) gives a plucky performance as the father, while Frank Wolf (Once Upon a Time in the West) plays the lead role as the devoted police officer.
