Sam Peckinpah's classic road movie CONVOY (1978), based on a song of the same name by C.W. McCall, stars Kris Kristofferson and Ali MacGraw. A mighty convoy of dusty trucks is heading for a state border in the southwestern United States. The enormous collection of vehicles of all shapes and sizes is led by "Rubber Duck" (Kris Kristofferson), a legendary truck driver who has assembled this huge army in protest against police corruption, federal and state laws, and shady political games. The law puts pressure on truckers, forcing them to comply with unrealistic speed limits that cost them precious time and money. The National Guard, the army, the police, and federal authorities are all out to stop the truckers, but the truckers don't want to stop!
