In China O'Brien, city police officer and formidable martial artist Lori "China" O'Brien (Rothrock) to resign and return home to a small town in Utah after being involved in a fatal accident. But when she arrives in Beaver Creek, she discovers that her father, Sheriff John O'Brien (David Blackwell) is desperately trying to bring down local crime boss Edwin Sommers (Steven Kerby), and it isn't long before she joins the fight. In China O'Brien II, Lori must once again protect her hometown when it becomes a hideout for a dangerous fugitive: escaped drug lord Charlie Baskin (Harlow Marks).
The China O'Brien films, led by Richard Clouse, the famous director of Enter the Dragon and Game of Death, established Cynthia Rothrock as an international action star after a series of successful films in Hong Kong.
