Cat People - Digitalt restaurerad bluray
A HORROR SUCCESS! 250,000 CINEMA-GOERS IN SWEDEN!
In sweltering New Orleans, the last remnants of a tribe that has existed in secret since time immemorial live. They look like us ordinary people, but their sexuality brings out the wild animals in them. And that in the literal sense! But once they have taken on the form of a panther, they must kill an ordinary person in order to regain their normal form. This is something that the bloodthirsty Paul has no problem with, unlike his younger sister, the sensual yet shy Irene, who therefore guards her sexuality. But then the unthinkable happens. Irene is attracted to an ordinary mortal, and now all hell breaks loose...
Nastassia Kinski (Paris, Texas) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange) are the siblings in the even more erotic and bloody remake of Cat People from 1942. Paul Schrader, best known for writing Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, and American Gigolo (which he also directed), is responsible for the direction and screenplay. The film's theme song, Cat People (Putting Out Fire), became a huge hit for David Bowie. Less successful was the censorship of the film, which was met with lively protests from several critics. This edition is, of course, uncut.
