Peter Cushing (The Gorgon, Corruption) and Oliver Reed (The Scarlet Blade) star in Peter Graham Scott's Captain Clegg, in which the legendary Hammer Films studio mixes horror and adventure in a film that was released in the US as Night Creatures.

When Captain Collier (Patrick Allen, Never Take Sweets from a Stranger) investigates reports of smuggling in the small coastal village of Dymchurch, the villagers, led by Pastor Blyss (Cushing), refuse to cooperate. Collier's men are plagued by "swamp ghosts" and tales of Captain Clegg, the feared pirate leader who was buried there... Or was he?
