Bumpkin Soup Limited Edition Blu-Ray
An early pink film by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, the award-winning director behind Cure and Tokyo Sonata
A girl from the countryside named Akiko (Yoriko Doguchi, known for her collaborations with the late Kishin Shinoyama) visits a college in Tokyo to look for her childhood sweetheart from her hometown. As she tries to find him, she encounters various odd inhabitants of the university campus—blasé intellectuals, sex-crazed students, a psychology professor searching for the theory of shame (played by award-winning director Juzo Itami), and, of course, her beloved Yoshioka, who has become a troubled nobody on campus.
