Takeshi "Beat" Kitano directs and stars in this brutal crime thriller about a Japanese yakuza who is forced to flee to Los Angeles after his boss is killed. After a failed gang war, Yamamoto "Aniki" (Kitano) arrives in Los Angeles with nothing but a new name and a bag of cash. He reunites with his younger brother and uses his extensive experience as aveteran gangster to develop a small drug operation into an extensive criminal brotherhood that attracts the attention of rival gangs with bloody consequences.
Brother is widely considered to be Japan's most important and influential director since Akira Kurosawa and is Takeshi Kitano's English-language debut.
