Blecktrumman (DVD)
THE OSCAR-WINNING MASTERPIECE IS BACK – IN A VERSION YOU'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!
Volker Schlöndorff's THE TIN DRUM was a huge hit with audiences and critics alike in the late 1970s. Not only did it manage to win both the Palme d'Or at Cannes and an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, it also drew huge audiences! In Sweden, it was seen by 191,000 cinema-goers, which is highly remarkable for a film that does not fit into the category of light entertainmentand is not in Swedish or English.
THE BLEACHING TANK is based on Nobel Prize winner Günter Grass's acclaimed novel and tells the story of Oskar Matzerath, a little boy who, during World War II, protests against all evil by stopping his growth.
Now that the film is returning on DVD and being released for the first time on Blu-ray, it is in a version that we Swedes have never seen before. The film has been restored and is presented in a new Director's Cut version that is 25 minutes longer than before!
