Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (DVD)
IN GREENLAND, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM...
The Loch Ness monster! The Snowman! Kalle Moraeus! The world has seen many plagues, but the worst of them all is right here among us, in our own backyard. We are, of course, referring to the most notorious "villains" of the vegetable world, the universally hated but misunderstood TOMATOES! For hundreds of years, they have been shackled by capitalism and sacrificed on the altar of the ketchup industry. But now they've had enough! With Tomat Ledin's battle cry "Better red than dead," they are ready for a global attack. Today the vegetable patch – tomorrow the world!
John De Bello was the director who first drew the world's attention to the growing tomato problem. It happened in 1978 with ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES, a low-budget film that became a surprise hit and spawned three sequels, one of them starring a young and green George Clooney. Its popularity has also resulted in two video games, an animated TV series from Marvel, and the murderously hot Killer Tomato Hot Sauce.
