Clara is a 65-year-old retired music critic and widow, but also the last tenant in Aquarius, a 1940s apartment complex in the beautiful upper-class beach residences of Recife. All her neighbors have been forced to sell their homes to a company that has development plans for the area. But Clara has decided that she would rather die than give up her apartment, which leads her into a quiet war with the company. Their struggle, however, brings some color to her everyday life and makes her reflect on her life, her love, and music.
