However, the film has never been shown exactly as Coppola himself wanted it to be ? until now.

The new and final version had its world premiere in Cannes this year (where it was awarded the Palme d'Or 40 years earlier) and received a standing ovation. In the fall/winter of 2019/2020, it hit theaters around the world with fantastic new sound, developed using a groundbreaking sound system that gave viewers an enhanced emotional experience.

In addition, Coppola himself has re-edited the film, which is now just over three hours long. Half an hour longer than the original version. The Blu-ray version is a 2-disc special edition packed with bonus material!
