The well-to-do doctor couple Audrey (Sheila McCarthy) and Henry (Julian Richings) are willing to do anything to get their dead grandson Jackson back. Membership in a Satanist group that rents meeting rooms at the local library, black magic, kidnapping a pregnant neighbor whose unborn child is intended as a sacrifice for Jackson— nothing seems too extreme when the world's most dedicated grandparents put their plan into action. However, they soon realize that a pact with the devil often has unexpected side effects. The duo Keith Cooper (screenplay) and Justin G. Dyck (director) have previously made a whole series of cute Christmas movies together. Perhaps it is the overdose of sugar-sweet stories that has led them to unleash a nightmarish parade of demons from Satan's realm.
