Ridley Scott directs this biopic about 1970s Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas.

When his boss dies, underworld leader Lucas (Denzel Washington) seizes the opportunity and begins to build his own criminal empire. With the help of the bodies of dead American soldiers, Lucas begins importing heroin directly from Southeast Asia, increasing the purity on the streets and defeating his rivals in one fell swoop. He soon amasses a fortune, which brings him to the attention of the headstrong police officer Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe), an honest cop in an otherwise corrupt force, who makes it his mission to take Lucas down.
