Sussie is 15 years old. Her father is dead and her mother is a severe alcoholic. For many years, she has been sent to various foster homes. She provokes, fights, and tests boundaries to the extreme. Finally, LOVE ME, one of the most talked-about films of the 1980s, is being released on DVD. Kay Pollak directed the film, and the lead role is played with strength and courage by Anna Lindén, whom Pollak finally found after meeting 10,000 (!) applicants. The film competed for the Golden Bear in Berlin, where GT reported that "the audience both cried and laughed" and that "the final applause was one of the longest during the festival."
