Two female passengers die in a car crash because the female driver has an amputated leg. The zoologist twin brother of the dead women is fascinated by the processes of decay, begins an affair with amputees, and frees animals from a zoo. Incredibly provocative, sexy, funny, and stylish, Peter Greenaway's A Zed & Two Noughts is also a tribute to Vermeer and an exploration of the trauma of loss, humanity's relationship with animals, and the attraction of lists. This daring film also features wonderful cinematography by Sacha Vierny, a thrilling score by Michael Nyman, and a cameo appearance by Jim Davidson (!).
