A Town Called Hell (DVD)
"SAME STYLE AND FEEL AS SERGIO LEONE'S WESTERNS" DVD Beaver
A mysterious American woman arrives in a lawless town in Mexico. In her horse-drawn cart, she has an empty coffin in which she intends to lay her husband's murderer—after she has shot him in the head. All she knows is that he goes by the name of Aguila. The sadistic Colonel Benito also rides into town with his soldiers. He too is after Aguila. Only the town's quiet priest stands in their way, but he himself can hardly be called God's best child...
Robert Shaw (Jaws), Telly Savalas (Kojak), Martin Landau (Oscar for Ed Wood), Stella Stevens (The Poseidon Adventure), and Fernando Rey (The French Connection I & II) meet in this western, which is considered unusually violent even in the context of spaghetti westerns. In Norway, the film was banned from cinemas, and in Sweden, four scenes were censored. Now, for the very first time, we get to see it uncut!
”A BRUTAL AND WELL-MADE WESTERN. ROBERT SHAW SHINES IN THE STRONG CAST."
